MUSCLE PAIN

Muscle aches

The body’s powerhouses also have weak points

People with muscle pain are easily identifiable because they have restricted movement, not “walking around.” Obviously, because muscles carry out all our movements, more than 600 in total lie under the skin. If they are not intact, the movement process comes to a standstill.

Muscles are particularly stressed during sports – and are exposed to an increased risk of injury. However, no sport is not the better alternative, because trained muscles promote the functionality of the supporting and musculoskeletal system. Because without muscles – in the truest sense nothing works. Pain in the muscles can have many causes.

The various muscle pains

When it comes to sore muscles in particular, a saying goes: “I didn’t even know I had muscles there!” The muscles in humans are challenged to different extents, the strongest muscle is actually the masticatory muscle. It rarely causes pain, other areas all the more often. Muscle pain can be harmless, but it can also be caused by life-threatening diseases.

  • pain all over the body

Muscle pain that spreads to at least several areas or even the whole body indicates a serious illness. This can range from influenza infection to fibromyalgia, the symptoms of which are chronic severe pain and tension.

  • upper arm pain

Pain in the upper arm, i.e. in the area from the shoulder to the elbow, can be an indication of nerve damage. Tingling is often an additional symptom. The pain often arises with certain movements: sports such as bodybuilding or tennis can force overloading.

  • shoulder pain

Pain in the shoulder is not only extremely uncomfortable, but often also affects sleep in addition to the daily routine. The shoulder is the joint with the greatest mobility in the body, but it is also very fragile.

Shoulder pain is often related to damage to the rotator cuff. This is a combination of four muscles that hold the head of the humerus in the shoulder joint and control movements of the upper arm. Calcium deposits in the tendons (calcified shoulder) can also cause severe pain.

  • back pain

The large back muscle is the largest in terms of surface area in the human body and runs along the entire spine. Back pain is usually caused by muscle tension. If they get worse when you’re resting, it could indicate inflammation resulting from irritation or damage to muscles or nerves.

  • pain in the legs

What sounds harmless could be a life-saving warning sign: muscle pain in the legs can indicate an impending heart attack. If the pain is worse when walking than when standing, this could mean that the vessels are narrowed. The muscles can then not be supplied with sufficient blood when movement is required; when standing, the need is less and therefore less painful.

  • thigh pain

Front, back or inside? In the case of the thigh, the localization of the pain plays a role. In principle, there are usually tensions in all directions: At the front, these arise e.g. B. by permanently bent knees, behind, etc., if the buttocks are positioned too far forward and the back is leaning too far back when sitting. Knock knees can cause the outer thighs to hurt.

  • pain in the calf

Hardly anyone has ever felt it, the sudden, stabbing pain of calf cramps, in which a malfunction in the muscle causes permanent tension. Muscle strains can also be a reason for calf pain. Caution is advised if the pain is worse when walking than when you are resting: this could indicate a circulatory disorder and should be examined by a doctor.
